This I Believe

wall

If you can summon the nerve

to topple the façade of yourself,

and be brutally honest while you pick through the stones-

you will find your own poetry,

like honey,

in the rubble.

On to the weekend prompt.  This weekend we are asking for exactly 33 words, 30 of your own and three of the following:
topple     paradigm     underneath     nerve     honey     loop
Good luck!

  3. I believe that, too! It is sometimes hard to be brutally honest with ourselves, but a necessary thing. As a new beekeeper, I appreciate the mention of honey :) Haha! Hope you have a great weekend, Valerie.

  7. Great poem about finding your inner poet. I need to look for her. Sometimes I feel she doesn't exist.
