I miss you, Bazooka Joe.
And your silly waxed paper jokes that wrapped every chunk of chewy sweetness in such innocently flavored humor.
Like so many other pieces of my childhood, you’ve became a casualty of the modern world-
Your memory materializing into a nostalgic pink ghost, every time I blow a bubble.
I’m joining in on the FUN this week!
Yep. Bubblegum. I have no idea how much wine was consumed prior to that prompt being created, but the paper it was on was folded into a cootie catcher and had purple stains on it.
(For the record, if I’d picked 4 instead of 3, the prompt would have been vole abuse.)
Let’s set the deadline to link up for Thursday at midnight PST. I’ll use random.org to select a winner and post it on Friday.
Have fun with bubblegum!
Oh miss Valerie! You are so fun. I have to run but I'll be back.
ReplyDeleteI'll be here Renae, waiting for my leopard loving friend! :)
DeleteOh I had forgotten bazooka joe. Thanks for the memories!
ReplyDeleteI'd forgotten too, Lisa! I really do miss ole Joe!
DeleteI still like corny jokes. Good memory even if it isn't mine. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne! And you too:)
DeleteOh I remember those wrappers! It has been a while since I've seen one of them. Funny stuff :)
ReplyDeleteTammy, I bet they are collectible now, and I haven't had Bazooka bubblegum since they got rid of Bazooka Joe!
DeleteOh I miss Bazooka Joe also I must admit I was the winner every year in class for the biggest bubble blown. My classmates were impressed .... my teachers not so much:) B
ReplyDeleteB-that's such a fun memory! I'd be impressed too, my friend!!
ReplyDeleteDuring my childhood, we used to a nearby state park and swim in their big sand-bottom pool on hot summer days. Afterwards mom allowed us to get something from the concession stand. My sister always got Bazooka Joes and saved all the comics in an old metal container. It was one of the only places we could ever find them!
ReplyDeleteI miss blowing bubbles. In my younger years it was Hubba Bubba. And it was the equivalent to booze in prohibition during my middle school years:)
ReplyDeleteYep, had to read those cartoons! Nice nostalgia :)
