Wordsmiths

Poetry, or prose,
words are coaxed, wrestled,
sometimes spilling
from mind to pen.
Ink flows,
onto paper’s eager surface-
tooth snares ink.
Captured words, in black and white,
make writers of us all.

This sums up what I love about writing-it’s not exclusive-it’s something we can all own a piece of.

  2. I was thinking about this just yesterday--how universal experience and feeling is, even if we haven't experienced it yet--and it's the writer's job to bring it all together. Beautiful as always, Valerie!

  6. Yes! Yes! Yes! Sometimes the words come so effortlessly it's scary. Other times the process involves pleading and bargaining with my brain. You nailed it, Valerie!

This is suitable for framing. Excellent take on the prompt!

P.S. Congrats on a well-deserved win this week. Your piece was so lovely and touching. :)
